So for my first build i decided to go all out, and build the best computer i can. I got all the parts today and built it in 7 hours, only to find that the computer will not boot. There is a small light beside the PANEL inputs that turns on when I plug in the PSU, but nothing else turns on. I have very minimal knowledge when it comes to testing the components, so all in depth help is greatly appreciated.

Specs:
MB: ASUS Sabertooth z97
GPU: EVGA GTX 780
PSU: Coolermaster 1000W
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB
Processor:Intel Core i7-4790K Haswell Quad-Core 4.0GHz

Thanks for the quick reply!
Im not too sure if this is the problem. The Z97 mobo has a plug with 8 slots/pins near the cpu, and a considerably larger plug at the edge with a lot more slots/pins. I am not too sure what to use, I plugged both in, nothing. I plugged only the one near the CPU in, nothing. I plugged only the large one in, and once again, nothing. The green light stayed on, however, only when i had the larger one in.

My PSU has multiple connectors coming straight out of the PSU. It has a large plug that fills all the slots for the big plug on my mobo (except for 4), but it has another plug directly attached to it that has four slots. The other few all have 2 four pins.

The reason why I am confused is because the CPU Power has 8, not 4, slots/pins, and why the PSU's large plug doesn't fill all the slots.

Edit i just looked at you motherboard there is only a 8 pin for the motherboard that should be fully plugged in all 8 pins, or it will not work. Also make sure the other 24 pin i think that one is make sure its plugged in as well and then all should fire up and work.

Sorry?

The manual says that the EAT12v needs to get plugged in to work. That is the smaller plug with 4x2 slots (8 pins or whatever). The other plug has a lot more pins, but my PSU does not have a plug that goes in every single slot. However, it has a 2x2 plug that goes into the slots that the big plug does not fill.

The light only comes on when i fully plug in the large plug, and not at all when i plug in the smaller, necessary plug.

Its alright guys. I found my issue. I had a plug plugged into the GPU straight from the PSU, and then another cord that came with the motherboard plugged in. Once i fixed this, it booted up no problem :D
