Hey guys .

1.should i go for AMD 290x or should i wait for new series of AMD graphics ( 390x ) ?

2.When will they come out after all ? how about New Nvidia GPUs release date ?

3.i own Nvidia GTX 760 but i started to like AMD cards for no reason . maybe because they are cheap and they have Mantle ( which is new Tech ) . which one you think is more future proof ? AMD or Nvidia ?

More about : amd 290x amd gen cards

Mantle was a hyped up thing that doesn't even really matter anymore. Amd makes good cards at good prices. Nvidia cards set to be released like next month or something. Amd hasn't announced anything that I know of.

wow thanks for quick reply . what do you mean ,Mantle is not a effective tech ?can you explain more about the cons of mantle ?

and im still wondering . should i go for 290x which is a MONSTER or wait for new nvidia graphics that will likely be even more expensive than their previous products with minimal gain ?

and again . which one is more future proof ? amd or Nvidia ?

by the way if Amd hasn't announced anything , that can mean two things :

1.their current release is Powerful and future proof enough that they dont need a new release for at least a year

OR

2.Nvidia is Working faster than they do

I don't think AMD have made any announcements. There are different marketing strategies. They may have something not far off. Possibly just a move to a smaller manufacturing process (currently 28mm).
Nvidia 900 series cards are apparently coming soon. It's not clear yet if these will be on the smaller process or not. You can expect better performance per dollar from these cards adn that will likely push everything else down.

AMD has Mantle. There are a number of games that support it now. The reviews show that it requires a lot more video memory but this works out OK because AMD cards have 1GB more than their Nvidia conterparts for many models (GTX 770/R9 280X, GTX 780/R9 290, GTX 780 Ti/R9 290X).
AMD typically has better performance per dollar.
Nvidia on the other hand has gsync, physx and shadow play. Their cards typically have better performance per watt than AMD and run cooler and quieter.
I also like the Nvidia experience software with suggested game settings for each game, etc.

What I typically want out of a graphics card upgrade is double the performance.
None of the current single GPU cards offer that for your GTX 760.
I would wait a year for Nvidia and AMD to both make their new releases, flesh out the range and let the prices settle down.

290x is best bang for your buck right now
300 series is months away

980 release date is in two weeks maby just on paper and it will cost way more than 290x
so will change nothing

Well yes the 290x is a very nice card but it's about $88 cheaper than a asus 780ti which is faster. Yes they have mantle which was over hyped and didn't really do what everyone thought it was gonna do of at least not nearly as dramatically as everyone thought. Nvidia gives the you GeForce experience, solid drivers 95% of the time and generally are all around considered more stable. For the price though the 290x is hard to beat but even with its extra 1gb VRAM the 780ti still beats it but it also costs a bit more. Bottom line the 290x for under $500 is still a decent deal but I would wait for the 900 series to officially be released as more than likely it will cause a price drop for other cards.

Oh good then ill just wait . but at first i told my self . if i get 290x ill wont touch my vga for at least 3 years . because max resolution im going to play with is 1600x1200 .

and i like the fact that the VGA im willing to get is more than i need . it feels more future proof .

I believe it but probably not by much and possibly at a higher price tag. Single card solutions are always best to go for first then if it isn't enough go sli.

SLI doesn't give you double the performance of one card, the scaling is never quite that good.
On top of that, having two cards in SLI with 2GB VRAM each means 2GB of effective VRAM. Each card uses its own memory for every frame it renders. This means that while SLI improves frame rates, it doesn't necessarily allow higher resolutions or detail settings.
