Hello

I have this motherboard - Sapphire PE-AM2RS740G2 - and would like to buy this RAM - 8gb (1x8gb) pc2-5300 ddr2 677 240 pin - will it work in my board as a single stick or do I need to buy 2x4gb instead? Thanks.

Get a 2 stick of of 4GB for dual channel instead, this increase performance by about 5%.

This is what the official website says:
Memory
Dual Channel DDR2 memory technology
2 * 240-pin DDR2 DIMM slots
Supports DDR2 1066/800 non-ECC ,un-buffered memory
Max.8GB

And yes it will be fine.

Hi Joe, unfortunately that's not an option - this is an 8gb stick at a ridiculously cheap price - for a 5% increase in performance that's not worth it for what I need. Will this stick work then or does the mortherboard require a 2x4gb to max 8gb? or can I use a single stick?

Thanks.
