Hey guys, just got my new computer all put together. Trying to install Windows. When I get to the partition section, it says my SSD must be NTFS partition. But it won't let me reformat it in the windows installer.

I went into the BIOS but I am not sure how to partition this drive. Can someone help me? I am new to computer building and I really do not know what to do.

Thanks.

You can't partition or format from bios. Use Windows.

If you install using the custom install Windows will allow you to select the partition you want to install to. The custom selection will also allow you to format the partition before you install. If you do not have a partition allotted specifically for Windows, you will need to create one.

The custom install Windows will not allow me to partition my SSD. I have no other Windows. How do I go about partitioning this then?

Now when I try it says "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support the booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the bios menu"

Shit. When I had issues last night I was going to install Linux. I guess I partitioned part of the disk. It won't let me erase and reformat it in the Windows installer.

I was able to Load Command Prompt. Is it possible to do it from there? I don't have another computer I can plug the SSD into -.-
