I want to add a new pair of rams (my old ram kingstone 16gb 1600mhz) i wounder if i add Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB DDR3 2400MHz CL10 Dual Channel what will happen....on AMD website i saw the fx is up to ddr3 1866...can i add 2400mhz and use all that memory speed?

Solution

I[strike] have seen 2400 mhz RAM modules, but I see they are all cas 11 which isnt as fast as CAS 9, i would recommend you find a 2133 MHZ kit with cas 9.[/strike] And also i would wait a bit to upgrade your system. The new X99's and DDR4 have been released and a DDR4 2133 module is faster than a DDR3 2133 module, but then again that is my personal preference. And why do you need to upgrade your ram? That Kingston is a good kit unless they died.

EDIT: HOL UP! I found you a module

OR THIS

That is 2400 mhz cas 9 and the (2X8) is cas 11(slower but has enough for what you might need done) why didnt i notice it? XD here you go man, I would wait to upgrade, but then again that is my personal preference.
