Hello,

I have a broadband connection with Ethernet cable input, which I use on my laptop directly over PPPoE connection. Now recently, I bought a wifi router from TP-Link model- TD-W8961ND which has an ADSL input. Guess this means I am screwed, if not, then any workaround would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

From what I see on the manual for this router, it would replace your DSL modem from the phone company. I don't mean to be rude but I'm assuming you have DSL and not Cable (coax) broadband. This will work with phone co. DSL but you need to configure the PPPoE logon. There are other types of routers where you keep the DSL modem but this isn't one of them.

I think I have an ADSL connection with RJ45 pin connected to it... I'm not sure.. They have created a connection on my laptop machine where I need to dial in everytime I need to connect to internet. If I replace the RJ45 pin with RJ11 pin or buy myself an Ethernet to ADSL converter.. will it work?

I am unsure about many of the connections that you are using but, first off there are two types of signals that include digital and analog. Modems convert analog signals to digital and also demodulate them back to digital. An asymmetric digital subscriber line connection uses modulation. I do not understand why you are having problems but, I may be able to help if I you could clarify what the problem is.
