antenna for 5ghz and 2.4ghz?

will the antennas for 2.4ghz work for 5ghz? I see a 18dbi antenna and want to buy a pair but they state its for 2.4ghz. i watched a youtube video claiming that there is a difference in antenna for the 2 frequencies.

also what kind of improvement will i get from a jump from 5dbi to 18dbi? thanks

I doubt there is a real difference in the antennas. My dual-band Router uses them interchangeably. I would be careful, strong signals can cause interference and health issues is close proximity. There is a reason these things ship with low power antennas.

there are 2 conflicting views in the comments. anyone else care to weigh in?

another problem i have is that i am getting excellent signal quality in windows but the speed is 1mbps. how do i change the speed to 150mbps and the quality to average or poor? i dont need quality i need speed!
