I'm looking to build a PC that will support programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, Corel Painter, etc, & would like to use two monitors. My budget is pretty tight - around $800 -$1200, & I'm in Australia (if that makes any difference). Any suggestions?

Solution
i5-4690K and ASRock B85M Pro4 are a bad match:

Go i5-4460 + ASRock B85M Pro4 for no-oced build.
Go i5-4690K + Z97 + good cpu cooler (CM evo 212) for oced build.

Otherwise its great. Its my build after all :D

I am a graphic designer. I use mac at work, pc at home. Considering your question is regarding PC, I would suggest a good quad core processor. Faster better. A haswell i7 would defiantly be ideal. Look for lowest priced i7 around you. Consider a K sku if you want to over clock, just make sure you know what you are doing. a blue screen in the middle of doing a design is tragic, consider photoshop and illustrator dosnt autosave/recover files until CS6.

Get an NVIDIA GPU, like a 760 for cheap. CUDA is utilized in photoshop and it does make a difference.

If over clocking, look for a good stable x97 board, if not, look for mid rang ($75-120).

Get a good quality PSU, you can find for under $150. target 600-700 watts.

Get an SSD for operating system, just a 128 GB will be sufficient. You can find these for under 100.
Get a mechanical hard drive for Scratch disk and saving large files.

This is a good build:

Here is my suggestion and if you already have OS just get an ssd for the rest of the $ also this build allows you to upgrade later on and overclock since its a k series CPU just pop an evo 212 on and you have yourself easy 4.2-4.4 ghz CPU.

Thanks guys. I mixed and matched your lists a bit - can you see any issues w/ this build? Am I prioritizing the right things?
