How do I fix the BSOD error IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error in windows xp

I did a C drive recovery on the computer. (Sony Vaio PCG-4C1L) Everything seemed to work fine. It took me through the normal setup when you first install an os. Then I got the BSOD error:
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

When I try to go into safe mode I get the error message

you can download xp from any source legally(go and search google) just as long you use your own cd key.

Thank you. how do I download that on the computer though? I can't even get it into safe mode.

ouch. dont you have a friend that has one and borrow them? then upon the cd-key screen enter your own.
