1st Time PC Gamer

Help!

I've recently converted from playing games on playstation to pc. I'm using Windows 8.1 on HP (Pavilion 20).

After inserting a CD, I'm prompted to run it, then.... nothing.

I'm also encountering problems playing a downloaded demo. The following message appears after I've seleced to play the recently released FIFA 15 demo:
