I'm getting a laptop for school around Christmas time once Broadwell comes out. I'll probably be buying a new phone early next year. Should I get a MacBook this year in preparation for an iPhone next year? Or should I get a pc and switch to android later? Or a combination of both? Please no haters or fanboys :D . Thank you all for your help!

It's all part of personal preference.
I prefer the Windows PC, because there are virtually no limitations to what it can run, assuming you have the appropriate hardware.
As for the smartphone, again, that's all person preference. I have not delved into the Andriod market, but I have owned two Windows Phones over the course of 5 years. I just recently bought an iPhone.

Depends on your budget and needs. Chromebook + android phone is going to be the cheapest and I like the way they work together. If you need it for gaming or Microsoft software, then you should get a Mac or PC. In general, Macbooks and iPhones are way overspecced for typical consumer needs. Between the two of them (factoring the real cost of the phone spread out over the contract) you will be spending $2,000 or more. If you can get by with a Chromebook and Moto E or G, you would spend under $600.

Nothing is stopping you from mixing and matching. Going with a macbook will be the more expensive option but they are generally built well and some people simply prefer the operating system over windows, this is all preference. I am a PC user but have a mac for work so I do get to use them both on a regular basis, I think macs tend to have a much better quality touch pad and the gestures are done well compared to windows.

I find navigating around windows and simply doing real work is easier than the mac, you can always install parallels or boot camp to utilize windows on a mac though.

As far as phones, I prefer android because it gives you more freedom and I like that you can do more in regards to personalizing the home screens, rooting etc...

It depends on what you are used to. Macs and iphones have the best synchronizations although I don't know how well chromebooks are with android phones.

Chromebooks are good if you needs are simple and are based on the the chrome os.

Windows are good if you want the maximum compatibly with software.

As for android. it is good if you want a lot of customization whereas ios is simple

As for me I've chosen ASUS N56J with a i7-4700MQ and a GT 850M. It will be good for school. Most demanding games would be Starcraft 2 or WoW, and it should handle that fine.
