So i have a factory overclocked nvidia 750ti card which ive tried boosting further. Ive manged to max out at 1300 mhz without increasing the voltage with msi kombustor running, about 200 - 300 mhz improvement on the previous clock speeds. I have also been looking into the 780 as a replacment, although the info ive seen on it says that the core clock speed is around the 900mhz region. Im not too familiar on the terminology so does this mean that the 780 out of the box wont clock higher than my 750ti? Doesn't seem right.
Some clarification on this will be appreciated.

Yeah clock speed on its own is a meaningless figure unless you are comparing the same card. The 780 may run slower clock speed, but also has a lot more cuda cores, higher memory bandwidth etc.

Yes the 780 is a mid/high end card the 750ti is not. You could bios mod the ti and over clock to 1500 core, and it will still be much slower than a stock gtx 780.

At this point, if you're looking to upgrade, wait until the 19th for some info on the new cards.
