Hello everyone, I am working on a Toshiba Qosmio x505-q887. It powers on, however the screen remains black.
What I have Done::
1. Hard reset, popped battery, held power button for 30 seconds, connected power supply and again it powered on but no change in display.
2. Reseated all hardware(RAM, HD, Video Card, Optical Drive) no change.
3. Ordered a new Video Card and installed it, no change.
4. Tried, before and after new video card, connecting it to an external monitor. Both VGA and HDMI, again no display on there either.
At this point I am rather stumped, however I'm leaning towards the motherboard now. I was just hoping to gather incite from the community or anyone who has worked on one of these beasts before as to what might cause its black screen at this point.
I originally passed on ordering the motherboard and went straight to GPU because the laptop still powered on, and most dead motherboard laptops in the past do not boot at all.
