Hi,

I have a laptop with broken LCD. I have bought a new replacement LCD with the same parts number. Checked it before putting everything together - everything was working fine. I put everything together and now it is blank screen with white colour starting at the bottom left corner and go all over the screen in time. I have tried new cable and it was still the same. I have cleaned all the contacts with IPA and blown with air all connections on MB. It was still the same. Then I have ordered new replacement LCD again. When I connected new one it was still not working but differently. It was some kind of flickering line on the top and some green dots and LCD goes white by the time. Also, I have tried external monitor and it came up with nothing. But I do not know if VGA/HDMI connections was working to start with.

This is my story and now a question. Could it be that LCD's are faulty and not a laptop because it does start up with a different "fault"?.

Solution
Assuming that your laptop's VGA and/or HDMI ports are working, yet you get no video signal on an external monitor either, it's possible that the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) inside the laptop has failed.
