So this Apu is pretty cheap and I was just wondering what it is capable of at running some games at.

Not much, maybe ~30 FPS on lowest settings, unplayable on low-Medium, on any latest title, like BF4/ FC3/ COD ghosts/ WD/ Tomb Raider/ Bioshock on FHD, 720p wouldn't be much better either. Raise the funds, A4 isn't of any standard today.

not well. A4s are bottom of the barrel, so probably low 720P for 90% of new games. But for older games like portal 2 you could up it a little more.

A lot better, you should be able to game at 1080P at low to mediumish settings with a good experience on nearly all games. Your fps will also increase a ton if you put high speed RAM in your build.

Could you tell us why your asking us about these two cpus?

Much better than A4, not much on high-ultra, but low-medium will get you playable 30-40 FPS. Not recommended for a gamer though. Get a Pentium+ something like 260X or 750 Ti, it'll be a lot costlier, but definately better, good for high settings gaming
