Computer Boots Up, no display on monitor - GFX card not the problem

This morning I was still running my PC and everything was normal. Then I decided to reinstall all my hardware, because I was hasty last time I installed the parts and wanted to do some better cable management as well as add the Wi-Fi adapter to my motherboard.

So I shut down my PC, took out all the parts and installed everything once again only to find that when I boot nothing comes up on screen, not even the POST/BIOS screen. When I plug a cable into the onboard graphics port you can see the computer boots up normally, only problem is that it does not detect a graphics card slotted into the PCI-E lane. I have already tried different monitors and double checked that the card is properly seated as well as receiving enough power so I immediately assumed that, obviously, it must be the graphics card that somehow received damage. Then I installed an older graphics card. that definitely still worked before I took it out, but still I have the same problem. Screen just stays black.

Does anyone have any advice? Bear in mind it's a brand new motherboard, CPU, RAM and HDD and that Windows does actually boot up when I use onboard graphics.

My computer hardware is the following :
MSI z97 Gaming 9 motherboard
i7-4690k
Corsair Vengeance RAM
Geforce GTX 770 OC
Samsung 840 EVO SSD
WD Black HDD
Corsair (forget the name) 1200W modular Power Supply

This sounds stupid but first verify that you have power to the monitor. Sometimes cords come loose but still look like they are plugged in when you move things around.

If that is OK then uninstall all graphics drivers and the WiFi driver and reboot to let the OS detect the devices again.

If you still have problems, uninstall the drivers again, remove the WiFi adapter, and try again.

Did you install your GTX 770's drivers before you reinstalled it for cable management?

You might have also damaged your PCI-E connector on your GPU (all the little gold colored lines on the bottom of the card that go into the slot itself). Try cleaning them off.

I had the drivers installed first. Everything was working perfectly till the shut down before I did the cable management. So I don't understand how the uninstalling the drivers could be the issue. I will only be able to try this tomorrow though, since I do not have access to a monitor that can fit into my onboard graphics.

I have cleaned the PCI-E slot on the card and on the motherboard repeatedly. Also I took good care of the components while I took them out. I understand their value and delicateness and this isn't my first time assembling a PC either.

I just can't fathom what could have gone wrong with such a small operation.
