So, I just installed the R9 290x, and deleted all the nvidia drivers that I had from my previous GPU using DDU. I just wanted to test if everything was ok so I went to canyourunit.com and it says that I'm using a GTX 560Ti, which I was using, but no longer am. What's wrong?
Thanks

Go to the start menu , in the search bar type run then right click on it and press run as admin afterwards type "dxdiag" (without the speech commas) .

A bunch of tabs will pop up then click on the graphics tab then you should see what exact card you're using regardless of what the website says. ( if its the r9 290x then the drivers are correctly installed ) .

Also this is more accurate

N.B : You might have not the choice to run it as an admin so run it anyways and accept the warning that will popup.

It only says AMD R9 200 series. Is that wrong?

Nope , it won't say the exact model but will say the series and since it says R9 Series then your card is fully functioning :)

But why does it display the wrong information on that website though?

Because websites aren't monitoring the real hardware of the PC , rather the drivers and the overall look of it.

If you refreshed the system Hardware rating , you'll see that now its higher and the website should read it correctly.

Refreshed it and it works now.
Another thing, the R9 290X has 4GB of vram, but on that website it says that I only have 3,1GB.

That's the usable , the other is reserved for other processes that we can't really see :)

I thought that this only happened in the normal ram.
Is there a way to the the exact name of the graphics card, in some software? It would tell me that I had a GTX 560 ti before, but now it only says R9 200 series

That should do so : http://www.hwinfo.com/download.php

Don't be worried , Your card is good.

It's not that. I bought this card from Amazon, and I tried to buy a used one to see how it goes since it was ~100€ cheaper, and I'm checking if everything is working. Do you know any good benchmarking programs I can use to see if it is working normally?

Games are the best thing for benchmarks. also always expect 10% deficit ( better or worse ) as this is normal

Now I'm kinda scared, I was playing BF4 on an empty server and suddently a red screen. I rebooted the PC, and it's working again. Now I'm not sure if this has something to do with the fact that I changed the PSU and all the cables, or the fact that this GPU might not be working 100%.

A Red screen is mostly the HDMI not the GPU , Do stress tests of the GPU and if it succeeds then its good.

It always worked before and this has never happened. What do you think I should use to stress test it?

Google it , some programs will work for a portion and others won't.

How should a good working graphics card do on such a test? I'm doing the FurMark test on fullscreen 8x msaa, currently 8min have passed at it's at around 84°C

84 is normal for that GPU , its slightly on the higher side but nothing to be afraid of.

How much time should I run it? Is it normal that the fps dropped to 1~5 3 times? 14 minutes have passed and it's at 85°C

That's very demanding so I think that's good , so take it to the real limits and play games.

Do benchmarks in games from 30 secs to 3 minutes and if it stays well then move on to a different game.

I stayed 20minutes on that 85ºC tops, I'll now try Valley benchmark to see the temperatures.

I was going to pick the Saphire one, but since my setup is red and this one has a backplate, I went with this one
