Solution

1) NO
2) To achieve the 'goal' of "max out every game including antialiansing on a 2560x1080 ultra wide ...while maintaining about 60 fps " (aka Watchdogs, AC:Unity, COD:AW etc.) even for a desktop you would be spending somewhere around $4000+ on a i7 based TRIPLE SLI with super cooling system.

To give a comparision here is the new AORUS X7 V2 with "two...
Yea that's a stretch for a 290 and just because your card is clocked at the same speeds as a 290x doesn't make it one so I wouldn't expect 290x performance. Also I wouldn't recommend the stock cooler on your CPU. For gaming it's always best not to use the stock cooler for a CPU.

Just for comparison, the R9-290X in the rig in my sig below cannot max out settings in Crysis 3 and provide smooth frame rates at 1080p. Of course, your CPU is faster, but it isn't the CPU that is holding me back in Crysis 3. The card runs at 100% usage, while the CPU runs considerably less than 100% usage.

To give a comparision here is the new AORUS X7 V2 with "two of NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 860M modules, in SLI. All told, there’s 8GB GDDR5 reserved for the GPUs (4GB each), so even running a trio of external 1,080p displays is a viable option for gamers who enjoy surround gaming. The processor under the hood, Intel’s Core i7-4710HQ, features a 2.5GHz base clock and a 3.5GHz Turbo Boost clock, putting it just a step above that of the MSI GS60. System memory comes from Crucial, and there’s a total of 16GB of DDR3L-1866."

Those specs yielded: (1,920 x 1,080) Metro: Last Light (16XAF) 39.33 http://www.computerpoweruser.com/article/15721/aorus-x7-v2
http://www.notebookcheck.net/Aorus-X7-v2-Notebook-Review-Update.122059.0.html SCROLL DOWN for all the games

If that system can't do HALF of what your asking with SLI 860s and a i7, well...

I wasn't trying to make a specific comparison, I was trying to show (as you overlooked) that if the OP cared only about 'hardware' names (note the stuff he has for his hardware) and has unrealistic GOALS, then here is a brand new SLI / i7 Gamer's Laptop and look what it performs (which SLI 860m would be performing alot better then a 770, I didn't compare a SINGLE 860m, to the performance of a desktop 770 much less to a R9 290 Tri x) just at 1080P fully on Ultra levels with AA as the OP wanted. So really what would his system perform, not NEAR the levels he is trying to goal without serious investment on a 'PROGAMER' level.
