HDD buzzing with heavy use

Hi, recently my HDD has started making a buzzing noise whenever I do any hard work with it ie. streaming/playing more intensive games. I've started backing everything up, fearing the worst, but I want an opinion of someone that knows more than me. It only happens in some situations, never all the time. It's also my boot drive, and about a year old

Does the buzzing go away when you press your hand onto the top of it? ie: is the buzzing being caused by the drive vibrating against the case or is the buzzing internal to the drive?

Unless you have a Maxtor, I would check that it's mounted securely. If it's mounted securely, I would back up the data on the drive ASAP, as it's on it's way out.

Can also contact the manufacturer of the drive (backup first they will replace the drive not the data) if it is only a year old it still be potentially under warranty from defect (this would be a defect and sign of soon to fail)
