Has anyone had this problem? I got it yesterday and turned it on. This morning my room smelled worse than it did before. (I had it on 1 from the top notch). This morning I turned it down to the bottom notch but that did nothing as it still smells REALLY bad in here. Like a burnt version of whatever was the smell before. Anyone know why this might be happening? I have this model: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001Q3KSA2/

In any of the air vents etc or on the operable filter section, are there any more of those clear or colored plastic shrink wrap/pull tab adhesive bits? I had some hidden ones of those cause all sorts of problems in a dehumidifier.

I'd return it then if you've gone through the manual and made sure all the setup steps were completed. Probably something to do with the charcoal filters maybe interacting with the other components. That's all I've got, sorry.

It might be that there was no airflow. I have it on the lowest notch and I opened a window and it seems to be getting better. Thanks for your help. Will update if it goes away completely

Yea I think it is that there was no airflow. Opened a window and it worked normally.
