Try reapplying the thermal paste and in the BIOS 'load optimised defaults'.

Check CPU temps using coretemp. Most reliable cpu temp software that I know imo.

You really need to read this, "An Understanding of Temperature on AMD CPUs and APUs"

http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-2122665/understandin...

My HP desktop with a A10 5800K were reading wild, sometimes very low 0.7C and sometimes flaming hot 286C I was really concerned but knew 286C was impossible, I would have smelled melting components.

The above post explains it all, my Thermal margin never exceeds 25C and I have found no utility that reads the same on my CPU temperatures, but each newer version of HWinFO64 seems to be getting better and more realistic.

I've noticed if I take the CPU DTS temp and subtract from 70C that will be my Thermal Margin on the AMD Overdrive Monitor. Thermal margin is the temperature below maximum temperature.

Try the AMD Overdrive Monitor and be sure to read the above post with link to AMD site to get the Overdrive Monitor, it gives you many control options on your system, if the manufacturer does not have them locked.

With my experience, CoreTemp has given me the most accurate results for the CPU Core Temperatures. Every CPU is different though, sometimes only certain onboard motherboard software works the best.

First off thank you all for helping me with this :D  secondly core temp doesnt show any temp readings and I will try this overdrive thing

I've used Core Temp on my older ASUS AMD XP Pro desktop and it works great, but with thiis newer AMD A-series on W8 nothing seems to work, Speecy, HWinFO, CoreTemp, Cupid and some others. They all seem to be able to show fan speeds, mother board and HD temps good, bot they are all over the place on core temps. And the HP laptop and desktop I now have will be my last HP Products they are totally locked down but you can get some control with AMD OverDrive and SpeedFan. To really toast your rump HP does not even have or have a user guide for their desktops any longer, just a Quick Start pictorial guide minus any text.
