hey guys my retailer cheated me into buying a WD green since the blue and black were not available with him
i later read reviews and discovered that the green is not optimized for your primary drive
so owing to the recent price drops in SSD
im thinking of getting a new Samsung 840 SSD 120GB
two questions:
1) what is the difference between Samsung 840 series vs 840 evo vs 840 pro
2) just out of curiosity and to get rid of the guilt of making the wrong decision with buying my HDD, so ill be using my WD green as a storage drive will it make any difference now whether it be a green blue or black?

Solution
Do yourself a favor and get double the space for the same price. Get a 256GB Crucial MX-100. They can be had for around $95. I have been using one for the last 3 or so weeks and it works great. The extra space over a 120GB is great.

As for your green drive, what are you storing on it? If it just photos, videos, docs, etc, it is 100% fine. If you are storing games on it, I would recommend a black since I am used to the speed of a black. Do you feel your game loading times take way too long (1 to 2 minutes)? if you think your loading times are fine, then keep the green.

okay man ill see if the ssd is available in my country
as for the HDD...since i have only the hdd now im storing everyting on it
games movies etc...
but the game load times are fine so is the boot up time
probably because its only 1/4 full
i wonder how much faster the ssd is going to be
and since ill be installing my games on the ssd
the storage drive doesnt make a difference does it?

You won't be able to fit many games on a 256GB SSD, maybe 10 - 15 depending on how big they are. But if your load times in games are fine on the green drive, then just keep storing them there I say. The SSD will be noticably faster at booting up. As far as loading programs and navigating through your pc though, while faster, don't expect to be blown away. Working with bigger files is much faster.
