my screen flashes black then comes back

My monitor randomly goes black. Sometimes there is 10 seconds and then 3 seconds black then sometimes up to 30 seconds OK before another 2-3 second blackout.
Help, what is causing this?

have you checked that the video and power cables aren't loose ?

I have exactly the same problem i turned the pc on today and suddenly it started to do the same with DVI cable and with VGA one works perfectly fine i created a topic - http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-2295406/problem-dvi-graphic-card.html so someone can help with the same problem
