Hi,

I am trying to solve a problem, i have been looking at a few different forums to limit the problem down to a certain point and would just like to know if anyone has had the same problem or they know how to fix it.

So the problem is a Blue screen of death. I get the code 0x109, with the last code being 0x1. On microsoft website they say the problem is

A function modification or the Itanium-based function location

I was just wondering what this means and how this can be fixed.

Thanks in advanced.

yep, it indicates that a windows function has been modified (hooked) by another program.
could be random but more likely malware or certain old apps used to use this method.
Now windows will bugcheck when it detects the corruption.
Run malwarebytes and see if it turns up malware. Otherwise, run the memtest86

That error code seems to indicate that some part of the Windows kernel has either been altered or isn't being read from memory correctly. You can at least eliminate the possibility that the memory is faulty by running a RAM test. If you can't boot in to Windows at all then you'll have to download and run Memtest+86 to perform a RAM check, or alternatively remove the RAM and test each one individually to see if the system boots up.
