A couple months ago my pc died on me and i replaced the hard drive and reinstalled windows, during the process i noticed that my screen was in a weird resolution and there were weird colours dotted around my monitor. I replaced my graphics card (GTX 8800 to a gigabyte 670 4gb) today and when i booted it up i had the same problem, i then installed the drivers on the disk included and now nothing will display form the card and the GPU does nothing but run the fan at full speed. Am i just unlucky in getting a bad card or is there a bigger problem. Also my pc runs fine using the onboard graphics.

CPU: i5 3.4ghz
Ram: Corsair vengeance (2x4gb)
GPU:8800 GTX and Gigabyte GTX 670 4gb
Mother board: Z77A GD55
HDD: 500gb western digital green

Weird colors dotted around your monitor? Like small little dots or small areas of color?

Also, I would first uninstall your GTX 760 drivers with this guide here. Then I would try to boot up from your 760 again and see if it works. If it does, then go to nvidia's website and install the latest drivers from there.

Have you checked the cable from graphics card to your screen? It could very much be the reason for the dots on your screen. Maybe you have gotten just unlucky that after the update your cable got busted completely and the fan speed is at max cause the process is stuck at BIOS screen.
