I have a JVC MX-GA77 home stereo system that does not output any sound through the speakers. The main unit does appear to work, as it powers on and, when audio is being sent to the device through Auxiliary, CD, tape or radio, the graphical equalizer does appear that it is playing the music. What's more is that it plays the audio through the headphone port. But the speakers stay silent.

I tried making sure all connections on the back were correct, which they are. The wires don't appear damaged and the speakers don't appear to be blown. I cannot test the speakers with any other systems as I have no other systems that would be compatible with the speakers. There also doesn't seem to be any settings preventing the sound from coming through.

Any ideas or suggestions?

You can partially check the speakers by intermittently connecting a AA or AAA battery across the wire. When the battery is connected you should hear the woofer move and make a sound. There may also be a blown internal fuse for the amplifier section of the system. Or the amp might be bad.
