Could I pair 2 monitors at 1080p with a 1440p monitor.

Hi. I would only be gaming on the center monitor (@1440p), and I would use the other two (@1080p) surrounding monitors for other things. Is this possible? Can i do it like this:

1080p,1440p,1080p 24',27',24'

Also, would the difference in size bother me too much you think? Is it that significant? Thanks.

Solution
You can run all 3 monitors in Windows 7 - but they require you to have the same resolution. Windows 8 allows for different resolutions on all monitors.

no personal experience this one (3 panels) but it will work, there are no restrictions for resolution to work in conjunction with multi monitor setups. i used to have 2 displays, 1 flatpanel then a crt, it worked fine.

now would it bother you? if you will be playing at a distance ala steam big picture mode then yes, it probably would. but if you're like 3 to 4 feet away, nah it wouldn't.

Thank you for your reply, I read that you cannot have different resolutions in a setup like that. Did that person just not know what they were talking about? lol. btw im planning on using 2 gtx 780 6gb superclocked in SLI

Thanks for your reply, I will be playing close to the screen. I think I will go with this setup then. If I was to game on all 3, I would have to turn the 1440p down to 1080p, correct? Thanks.

If you run Windows 8.1 - you can have different resolutions. I have 4 monitors on my desktop, they used to be different sizes (22" - 24"), and the size wasn't that big of a deal - the thing that annoyed me the most was lining up the bottom of the displays....when they are uneven, the mouse doesn't always flow fluidly across the screens.

When I ran Windows 7, I used a 22" LCD 16:9 ratio, and used a CRT display. The resolutions didn't have to match-up. The CRT was plugged in via VGA, the LCD was plugged in via DVI.
