Hello there, I am here looking for someone to help me out with my problem.
I bought a graphics card yesterday, an ASUS R9 270X, to replace my old Radeon 6950, for the purposes of being able to play most of my games at higher frames... duh
Here's a list of relevant specs, if more info needed LMK

System Specs:

PSU: ANTECO Neo ECO 620W rated at MAX load 12v / 48A
MOBO: ASUS M5A97 (2x16 PCI-E 2.0 Slots)
CPU: AMD X1100T @ 3.3ghz
RAM: CORSAIR VENGEANCE 8GB 1600MHZ
HDD: ??
OS: Windows 7 64-bit

The problem is, my card is not being detected by my BIOS or computer at all for that matter. I'm receiving the "no display detected" screen, followed by the MOBO morse code for no VGA card detected.

So, based on my specs I gather I have more than enough power from my supply to run the graphics card, I hope, both LED's are lighting up on the power connectors when I turn the PC on, however, the fans are running at low RPM, I'm not receiving any display and I'm getting 1 long continuous beep, followed by 3 shorter beeps coming from my squeaky little mother board speaker. According to the manual, these series of beeps means no VGA card is detected. No kidding...

So here's what I've tried to do to remedy my issue and get my new purchase working..
None of which worked.

*Updated my BIOS to the current version
(turns out it already was current) BIOS V 1605

*Re-seated the graphics card numerous times in all slots, fully securing it in each. ( Read quite a few tips describing how hard you have to push the thing in. I'm 100% certain my card is seated correctly, snaps right into the PCI-E slot and is screwed down to the chassis.

*Tried resetting my O/C'ed BIOS to default, also fiddled with my Boot priority from PCI/PEG to PEG/PCI.

*Uninstalled all previous drivers from my 6950, then installed the latest 14.4 catalyst command center program, still no BOOT

I haven't tried changing display ports on the graphics card, HDMI,VGA etc, but because my motherboard is genuinely ( according to manual ) not picking up that the card is even there I'm fair certain this wont have any effect.

(I've also tried yelling at it... to no avail)

Any suggestions are completely welcome, I really want to get this thing up and firing to see how it goes.

Cheers

Solution
You might want to RMA the card, then, it seems like you've tried everything and the card isn't working.

Also, the potential security breach problem is a browser problem. Depending on the browser you're using, use google to find a solution.

Ah, no I haven't, that reminds me I should really try a CMOS reset haha.
Is there any specifics I need to know when resetting the CMOS, I have never done this before :S
Could you walk me through it?

Hey Yous, I couldn't view that link due to 'privacy error', I found the jumper on my MOBO, I just cleared the CMOS, with no result. I removed the jumper and placed on the end 2 pins for 10 seconds, placed my NEW 270x into the first slot and started, the MOBO is still not detecting my card at all!
:(

Hi, I removed any power from the PCB waited for it all to dissipate, then cleared it, I couldn't find the CMOS battery though, I saw on a youtube video earlier that they look like a big silver disc, standard looking flat battery, I couldn't see one anywhere on my MOBO. So yeah I still haven't got anywhere yet :(
It's really weird since my first CMOS reset, I now cant connect to any Google plus affiliated websites.
I keep on getting this messsage Your connection is not private

"Attackers might be trying to steal your information from www.youtube.com (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards)."
It's creeping me out. haha

Hey mate, haha yeah thank you, I couldn't see it under the card, I admit I probably should've removed some components before hand.

I've reset the cmos with the power cord unplugged, removed the battery, replaced the battery, reset cmos to normal, connected power and tried to boot with my new card, its still not registering at all :/

One thing I've noticed after clearing my cmos, is that almost all websites with any sort of 'encryption' on them are barring me from using the website due to a potential security breach, where my personal information can be taken.
so strange, if any one could shed light on that I'd be interested, also if anyone could help me get my BRAND NEW! 270X working I might just send you a virtual handshake of thanks.

bump

Yeah, I'll take it back to the shop, and see what they make of the problem.
Cheers for your help anyway.
