I was looking to upgrade to an R9 270x and noticed the PowerColor DEVIL AxR9 270x was significantly cheaper than others with similar specs, the only thing was it was open box. I was wondering what this means as the explanation on their website did not explain it very well for me. Would it perform as well as a brand new one?

Thanks for the help.

I think it means someone either returned it or got it refurbished, and then they sell it in a box other than the original packaging. It should work fine but just be wary and know the warranty.

If you're comfortable with the realistically minimal risk of buying a product that was either opened and immediately returned/very lightly used, by a big name hardware distributor. Then yes, it's the way for you

$135 R9-270

Definitely see some deals in this way

Newegg has a fairly good return policy so you should be able to return it if it doesn't work with minimal impedence.
