I have an hp dc5800 with intel 8400 core duo 3.0 ghz cpu. I recently purchased a corsair CX600 for my new graphics card Radeon HD7770.

I disabled the graphics, and installed the new card, with the monitor plugged into the video card i have video but the card isnt recognized in the device manager ( it just says "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter").

Any help on troubleshooting this is very much appreciated!

Install GPU drivers.

Care to elaborate?...

I installed the software that came on the disc, but the AMD catalyst Control Center says that it cannot be started "There are currently no settings that can be configured using AMD Catalyc control Center". I've tried having it automatically search for the drivers but because it doesnt recognize it, i dont think its working.

Other thoughts?

For new GPU drivers you need to completely uninstall your previous GPU drivers. There is a guide in Tom`s hardware which states on how to clean uninstall the GPU so care to search it.

After doing this, install the new GPU drivers.

Rationale: there is conflict between drivers. (Pacquiao VS Marquez)

Ermahgerd. Installed Display Driver Uninstaller from the link below and it worked first thing....thanks! I was thinking everything but that there was old drivers left on there still....
