I currently own a Siberia V2 Frost for gaming + music but I listened to my brother's Shure headphones and it was ridiculously clear and beautiful in the "mid-high tones" but quite lacking in bass and "fullness" compared to mine imo. I know almost nothing about headphones and their technical terms and I was wondering what to get for a "dedicated" music headphone. I see alot of reviews for ath-m50x and fits the price nicely but I really have no clue.

I'm looking for something around more or less170$ specifically for my taste of music. I generally listen to eletronic, jpop, kpop, intrumentals, and such. If you really need a sample then I have a list on youtube. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=FLD9zbA3yCHYPsIUthLBsmQA

Thanks~

Ask me anything if you need more information

Hello,

I've use Sennheiser PX 360 Headphones and I love the sound. You can find them for around 100 dollars usually.
They have good sound, nice build BUT short and thin cable ( seems fragile but it works for me great 8 months now).
You will get a great sound upgrade with a good sound card. I would really advice u look for some info at some audiophiles dedicated to headphones since there are quite a few.
They can usually give you best advice considering both sound card and headset.

p.s. another thing to note is Ohms if u plan to use it with ipod or similar.

I have the ATH M50s which is the same headphone as the m50x but it doesn't have a removable cable.

The best part of the headphones are the highs and the sound quality is great for the price. I listen to a lot of jpop and these headphones work great for that type of genre and many more. The vocals sound amazing with these headphones. They are also solidly built and will definitely last you quite a while. I would recommend them in a heartbeat.

Yes it should be much better than any "gaming" headset around the same price range.

You might need a soundcard, but most motherboards have decent onboard sound quality.
