So I have the Razer Tiamat 7.1(http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-audio/razer-tiamat-71) and I want to get the full 7.1 surround working. My current computer does not support 7.1 surround, but I noticed on Razer's website they mentioned that this would work instead(http://www.vantecusa.com/en/product/view_detail/439). So I have this external 7.1 channel and have no clue how to set it up properly. Thanks in advance :)

My PC Specs:

AMD FX-8320
Windows 8.1 64-bit
ASUS M5A78L-MLX plus
8GB RAM

External cards should work the same.

You just plug it in. Basic drivers should already exist in the OS.

You connect the headset to the card(all 4 3.5mm jacks for 7.1). Remember to connect the headsets usb as well since it needs power.

If you are looking for more advanced features(upmix/eax emulation) in a USB card, you are stuck with 5.1 cards.
