Right now I have a 2.1 ghz AMD A6-3600 apu with 512 mb vram (460 or something due to hardware reserve) . Right now I just want to upgrade my vram and my ram (4gb) as people say my cpu isnt to bad for most games, but I should upgrade the other two. But I think I cant use a apu with a gpu ,and so if I want to upgrade I need to get a cpu aswell, can I use both?

???? Explain yourself.

But yes, you can use a GPU with an APU, as long as your board supports Crossfire and the GPU matches the series of GPU from the APU. Sounding confusing? Here's an example: A10-5800K has a HD 7670D. You can X-fire a HD 7670 by simply installing the card.

But it's not worth doing. Your APU's got such a low-powered GPU, it doesn't really do it any good if you X-Fire.

I think that op asks if he can use the cpu and a different gpu than the integrated one not to crossfire.
Yes you can do that, I think the system would use both, when you game the dedicated card will work, and while you brows and do light usage the integrated one will be working. I'd recommend an 8GB ram as it's the daily use for now.

If you intend on doing more gaming, I also recommend to upgrade the CPU.
