Is there some magic way to split YouTube and gaming audio between on-board motherboard and my sound card respectively.

I like to do life story sort of stuff, so I record game-play and talk over it later. I'd like it's audio to show up and be able to listen to my YouTube subscriptions' videos and not have that recorded. I think my video-card has audio as well.

Is it possible?

Any help is very much appreciated!!!!!!!

That would be a bit over my head - I would think if the audio is being generated by a game for recording, you need it active (via the mixer on your sound card) so that it is included in the recording. So if you "mute" that sound in the mixer, it would be muted on the recording.....(I could be wrong).

I built a two computer solution to do things like you are talking about. One is slightly more powerful than the other - both home builds. I have 4 monitors attached to the 2 computers, and use Synergy to provide a "virtual keyboard/mouse" for both computers at the same time.

So the build appears to be 4 monitors on a single "desktop computer". I can have audio going through speakers on computer "a" (let's say a you-tube video), and...
Usually, in what you are describing where you do a "life story sort of stuff" and "talk over it later", there is a video editing package that allows this to be done....you can "mix" the audio source of the recorded video with the input from your microphone during the editing process.

Sorry for not making my question clear. I want to do other stuff while I play, but not hear it in the recording. I want only the game audio recorded, but not my stuff going in the background. I can fix stuff in post. I just like to hear other people's stories while I play, but can't have game audio without them in the background.

Sorry for being a hassle.
