Problem With Motherboard and Video Cards?

Hello Folks,
I have had this motherboard for awhile, and I just bought a new case (case is thermaltake commander MS-1) and it stopped working. Here's what the story is from the start: I bought this mobo, put it in my computer and it worked fine (Motherboard is Gigabyte F2A88XM-D3H). So, when I buy this new case and put the mobo in along with everything else, it stops detecting video cards. I tried it with 2 cards, ASUS Geforce GTX 560 ti and Radeon HD 5970. I knew the 560 ti had power because it had a green light on it. As for the 5970, not sure, but the fan was spinning. So, I reset the cmos to get onboard graphics back, and it doesn't detect that either! I asked my cousin for help, and he sent me a backup motherboard. The backup wasn't working either; I reset the cmos, tried my video cards, and still no display! Strange. So, before I send my motherboard back to Gigabyte, I just wanted to make sure if any of you knew what the problem was. Now I am starting to get the feeling it is the case, but I don't have my old one anymore so I can't be sure. Help. *also, I don't know the specs of the backup mobo*

System Specs:

Mobos: (main) Gigabyte F2A88XM-D3H (backup) ASUS M4A785-M
Psu: Coolermaster GX 750w
CPU: AMD A10-6800k 4.4 GHz Quad Core
RAM: Kingston 8GB DDR3
Hard Drives: 1TB Wester Digital Caviar Blue and 500GB Seagate Barracuda

Help meh

No, I didn't. Like I said before, I reset the cmos so even if I did it would have been reset.

Yeah, I did overclock it BUT now I reset the CMOS (took the battery out) again, and it worked when I turned it on (the battery was out), and on the screen it said that I have reset all settings. So, I figured it was working now. I but the battery back in, and it worked for that time. Then I shut off my computer, put in my HD 5970 and turned it on again and it wasn't working anymore. Took the card out, still, no signal. Reset the CMOS again, no signal. This whole thing is really frustrating.

Well, no, I can't access bios still because there is no signal. I have reset the bios many times already (by taking the battery out AND by touching the jumper thing). But I know it is reset because of that one time there was signal. Do you think it has something to do with my hard drives not having power and not being plugged in?

Yes it is possible for the hard drives not having signal, try to tighten up the cable connectors. You said that you were able to get signal just one time so have you verified the clock speeds during this times if it was resetted?

Try turning off and on the power supply. Sometimes it helps just give it a try.

Okay, yeah I will try that. And yes, when I did get into the bios everything was reset to normal.

Its funny, I'm reading all of theae responses because I'm having the same problem, and nothing...ill explain my setup
I hav an amd a series processor, amd a88x, windows 7, 4 sata hdd, liquid cooled corsair, ddr3 4 gb ram, atx radeon hd2900 video card
I keep getting no signal even as I plugged in the dvi/vga cables on the board and on the video card, yes tried both monitors then one monitor at a time
I thought it was the power supply, but then I just tried one hard drive, so idk

It`s weird, basically we have the same motherboard A88X G45 and i did not have any issue about signal, although i have for an unstable overclock. And also i got a MSI. So, kdiddy01 for intruding OP`s thread, is this the 1st time you power on your computer? Have you run this computer before or this is the first time that you turn it on?

Sorry I took soo long, i just saw you replied
Yes this is the first time I'm powering on this motherboard
I got this motherboard b/c my other stock hp motherboard was freezing up and running too slow

OK, if that it the case then maybe your Mobo has a problem but inorder to verify this theory, try to reconnect your old Mobo to your system and check if it still runs as it should be. If you`re old Mobo won`t run maybe you did not connect the right cables. Which will be the same in your new Mobo.

I was using the old motherboard last night and took it apart today...is there anyway that I could take a pic and post it on here of how the inside looks just so that we can all be sure that everything is wired correctly

A picture is not necessary at this moment. You have your Mobo manual right? You can refer to it so that you can verify the connections, anyway socket/ports are distinct so they can only fit one port, check if you plug the connector from the PSU to the motherboard.

All the fans and stuff come on, just nothing comes up on the screen
All the cables on the screen are correct too, and I tried my new video card and the one on the motherboard as well

Yeah, this could very much be a faulty mobo. I am going to try my backup one and see if it works, then if it does send back the new one for a replacment. Although it was working before, so I can't be too sure. I am buying a new case so I will test the new one there and then test the old one if it fails.
