If I upgrade from 8 to 8.1 will I lose my stuff?

Hi, I currently have windows 8 pro 64 bit installed as my os. Once in a while I get a notification saying that I can upgrade to 8.1 for free. I have never used 8.1 and I want to upgrade and try it but I only fear that if I upgrade I will lose my installed software and apps. The reason I am posting this thread is to ask, will I lose my installed software if I upgrade?

You sure? I put lots of time during upgrading from hdd to ssd, had to re install nearly 500 programs (lots of work -_-).

Yes you will not loose anything, its really more of a service pack.

As long as you are updating via the windows store and not a dvd/usb you will be fine.
