Hey everyone, So I am having this issue with my PC and not sure what to do if theres anything i can even try to do. I tried to install a second RAM stick identical to the one already in it the RAM is a 2GB DDR2 stick. I've checked multiple times to see if anything may be loose but nothing my PC just doesn't seem to pick up the second stick... Any suggestions?

Are you p[utting it in the right dimm slot (per mobo manual)?

Clean the dimm slot real carefully. If it hasn't been used then its probably covered in dust.

I never encountered this problem before, but are you sure that both sticks are EXACTLY the same ? They may both be the same model, but your second stick might be a "revision" model. For exemple if your first stick's number is "RAM5000", your second stick could be "RAM5001". You should check that with CPU-Z or any similar program.

I'm 100% sure they are the same I bought them at the same time exact model and number everything.. I've never even heard of this being an issue before. My PC has 4 total RAM slots I've tried using all of them but still no luck. I'm beyond lost on this one! Thanks for replying though!

You need to clean your slots with isopropyl alcohol on a cotton bud

There' sno guarantees DRAM will play together unless both sticks came in a single package, that way you knoww they are tested to work together. Try both sticks individually, if both work by themselves, with one stick in, go into BIOS and raise DRAM voltage + 0.05 and save, exit, shutdown and then try adding the second stick and see - if no joy, let us know CPU, mobo and Model number of the sticks
