Hi there.

This was my first build. I had the PC working for two days there, and then last night it seemed to completely die on me.

At the time, I had been having trouble with the audio, so had just installed Realtek Audio(HD?) from the Gigabyte website. It asked for a restart, so I obliged. I nipped away, came back a few minutes later, and the screen was black, mouse/keyboard not waking it, but still 'on.' Tried hard reset, not working. So I had to do a hard shutdown.

Dead. There has been hardly a spark of life since that point. I have triple checked all leads, it's definitely wired correctly.

The only apparent life is when I turn on the primary power switch on the PSU. When I press that, the case fans seem to switch on for an instant. So there is at least some power moving through the mobo.
But it does not do that every time I switch on the PSU, only once every few minutes.

Nothing else lights up or moves at all.

Here's the build:

Any advice would be appreciated. I already got a lot of help from Tom's while I was researching the build.

Edit: Just checked, the cpu fan also spins up briefly along with the case fans. And thanks for the quick replies. I'm hoping it is the psu.

there is a way to test the cpu (without any other component connected), just google it if you don't know how to. you could also use a single fan just to see (though the psu also has a fan). it's simple enough to do, just be careful. youtube should have a guide
