I finally built my first barebones and so far it's been a nightmare. After getting everything all hooked up I powered it up. No beeps from the motherboard, no vga connection. The lights come on, the processor fan comes on, the disk drive is functional, and the hdd spins up.
So far I have tried:
Removing dedicated graphics card (it also has an integrated card.
Reseating the ram stick, removing it completely, and testing both ram slots individually.
Removing the motherboard battery for 3 minutes then resetting
Tried two separate monitors with different VGA cables
Unhooking the hdd and disk drive.
Later today we are going to pull a functional RAM from my husband's computer to see if that helps and if not my computer builder farther-in-law will come look at it but in the mean time I was hoping someone might have an idea.

Here are the things I have. I have all the product numbers on my husband's desktop so sorry for it all being links:

And here is how it looks currently if that helps at all:

Do you have the hd5450 installed? If yes take it out and return it. It is worse than the integrated graphics on the CPU.

Also, if you do have it installed you have to connect the monitor to it, NOT the motherboard.

USe the HD audio plug, not the other one.

The PSU is trash, 100%. replace it before it fails and fries the entire thing. Antec, XFX, Seasonic are what you want.

I took the hd5450 out when it wasn't working and have reset the motherboard battery since then.

I can't find anywhere to hook the hd audio which is why I used the other.

Any ideas on how to fix the vga issues?
