I was going to buy a r9 295x2 but people told me 2 gtx 780 ti would be better. I will need the power for my 120 hz monitor I will be buying. Do I need a 1000 watt psu for this? AND how high will my electric bill be XD
Oh and also will the sli 780 tis be increasing fps at 1080p? I will be playing dayz Arma 2, bf4, cod, far cry 4, and the crew. Thanks! Edit: this will all run with a 4790k... should I use a 5930k for the duel gpus? Sorru for spelling, I'm on mobile.

Hi there, first of all you won't need an 5930k, that 4790k will do just fine, besides, the 5930k has more cores so runs at a slower cpu speed, the 4790k (4ghz) might even be better for your needs. As you probably know faster cores ar better for gaming than more slower cores.

Second, a 1000W PSU should have to cut it, although people say you don't need 1000W (wich is true), you'll be better of with some headroom, so you can maybe even overclock or add other upgrades in the future. And PLEASE make sure you get a decent psu from seasonic or corsair or something, it's worth it investing a little more in a higher quality psu over a cheap lower quality one. As your psu drives your whole system it could even damage much more expensive parts of your system when you're dealing with a cheap faulty psu.

I have no idea about your electric bill, as modern psu's don't use much power when idle, but when gaming or doing other heavy work, they'll use a lot of course, so it really depends on how much you game, how much watt your psu outputts and how efficient it is.

780 ti in SLI probably would be better, their performance is a little better than the 295x2, but as far as heat and noise go, that depends on the brand and model you're going with. Actually, both will do fine, it's really up to if you're a team red or a team green guy.

At 1080p, you'll get insane fps with dual 780 ti's or 295x2. Your 120hz monitor will come in handy. Most games will run flawless, with a few bad ported exceptions.

Good luck

Cheers

Joni

an 850w power supply will be fine for sli 780ti's, unless you intend on getting classifieds and running a high overclock.

x99 isn't going to give you any boost in gaming, this has been rehashed every new release, skip it and save your money and get a 4790k

Thanks pal! I see you're good with PSU'S so can you answer all my questions on another thread? http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2296504/twin-frozr-psu-motherboard.html
