Hi in some games (especially bf4) I noticed I got a lot of fps drops and stutters, so I looked at the CPU usage and noticed that every time the fps dropped so did the CPU usage going from like 90 down to 20/30 sometimes lower. Is there anyway to fix this? or should I get a better processor?

My specs - i5 2320 / Pny gtx 660 xlr8 edition / 8gb corsair vengeance ram / 2 1tb hard drives / corsair tx750w v2

Usually this is caused by CPU throttling, due to heat. Check your cpu temps when the drops occour.

Thanks for the quick response, the cpu temps are around 72 degrees and when the drop happens it goes up to 76 degrees.

Clean out your cpu cooler, and apply new thermal paste. Then make sure the cooler is seated evenly when you put it back onto the CPU. When applying thermal paste, you only need to use a very thin layer. If you use too much the temps will increase instead of decreasing.
