Yes it would but many people tend to [strike]opt for display port instead[/strike] when using the 144/120Hz monitors. Just noticed your monitor does not have display port. As long as your GPU supports displays over 60Hz (which it does) then HDMI should work.

you would have to check the monitor specs and video card specs to see if its version 1.4b or later then it will work for 120HZ
in other words i do not really see many 1.4b devices out there so most likely it wont work for 120HZ over HDMI

it doesnt specifically mention anywhere in the specs that the monitor supports 1080@120Hz over HDMI, it might do 120Hz at lower resolution though.

Precisely the reason why I also suggested the use of a DVI-D to displayport cable. I doubt they'd release a monitor that supports 120Hz and doesn't include an HDMI port that doesn't support it with the necessary technology to do so being available at the time.

Well i tried with a DVI-D to displayport cable but still getting only 60hz i'll wait for my new DVI cable, the old one doesnt appear to be broken but the thing is the screen goes black with that cable, i tried VGA, HDMI and now your solution but still nothing more than 60hz.

Thanks anyway :)

HDMI 1.4 of any form, does not support 120hz in 2D. It is a common misunderstanding of the spec. Here is what is said:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HDMI
HDMI 1.4b was released on October 11, 2011.[138] One of the new features is that it adds support to 3D 1080p video at 120 Hz – allowing frame packing 3D format at 1080p60 per Eye (120 Hz total).[139] All future versions of the HDMI specification will be made by the HDMI Forum that was created on October 25, 2011.[37][140]
What that means, is in 3D using frame packing, HDMI 1.4b can support 120hz. It does this because it can send the left and right eye image in 1 frame. It actually sends the info at 60hz, but splits the 2 images up, and displays them in order at 120hz. This does not work in 2D.

You will require HDMI 2.0 for 120hz, which does not exist on current GPU's, so it can't be done on HDMI....With one kind of exception. Nvidia has started allowing 120hz over HDMI 1.4 on its cards by using compression. The quality is reduced, but it does allow HDMI to operate at 120hz.

Just get a new dual link DVI-D cable or use displayport.

Thanks for the help but still the same, i dont use V-Sync since im using a ATI Card i'll get use to it until monday :)

You might not be able to force V-sync on or off in the CCC, but most games have it as an option within the game. Just adjust it accordingly.
