I'm looking for the best graphics card I can get for the money, also I would like it to be somewhat quiet.

If you do suggest a card, can you suggest which version to get? E.g. Asus, Zotac, EVGA etc.

Thank you very much.

Is the performance that much of a difference though? I only have a 60hz monitor and plan on playing @1080p, so is there much of a difference future proofing wise? Thanks

Hi again - depends on the game - close to even on some to as much as 20% faster for the 290x over the 780.

This gives a general comparison, doesn't measure specific cards, but at least you have a base from which
to judge:

Do you reckon it's worth waiting for the new series of cards from AMD and Nvidida?

Well, if you get into the waiting game, you'll always be waiting instead of enjoying good game play. Since you
are going to game at 1080p, I suggest you get one of the cards linked now. At 1080p you are likely to get
very smooth game play now. The newer cards may (or may not) improve a game like Crysis 3, but in most
other games you won't notice a difference.
