I heard very good things about Nh d15 and I wanted to ask you will I be able to hit 4.5 mark with temperatures below 60,55 or 50 degrees Celsius.
Yes I know every chip overclocks differently but I just want to know if I would be able to hit 4.5 or above with temperatures below 60 with Nh d15. If I could go up to 4.8 Nh d15 would handle this?
Also: my mobo is Asus Sabertooth r2.0 and gpu is r9 290x

Solution
Yes,you will defintely will be able to overclock it,even above 4.5 GHz. Noctua NH-D14 and NH-D15 are equivalent to some liquid coolers,so you have nothing to worry about that.
Have fun with overclocking. :)
Yes, that'd be real easy and quiet, great CPU cooler (actually THE BEST in quietness and on par with best in terms of performance, you can't get much better). Definately less than 50C unless you have like 30C+ ambient temps. Anyways, 4.5GHz will be a child's play for that cooler :)

I know this was long ago that you posted this answer but if you can see this answer me please before i buy Noctua NH-D15.

Can i do similar OC with my AMD FX-8350 with M5A99FX PRO R2.0, i also have good CPU i was able to get it stable at 4.6GHz with 1.385-1390V on Vcore. Im woried about socket temps can the M5A99FX handle it? and do you have any tips how to keep them cool*?

Hey man. Sorry for the late response. I wasn't checking this forum as I was last year, but now that I have,I could give you the asnwer (you probably found it already, but it's not a problem for me to answer as well :D )
The Noctua NH-D15 is probably one of the strongest,if not the strongest air cooler that can compair to some of the more powerful liquid coolers, such as the Corsair H100i in my opinion. You'll definitely be able to OC the 8350,as the M5A99FX PRO is one of the best motherboards for overclocking AMD's. I have a slight variation of that motherboard,it's the M5A99X EVO R2.0 and I'm god damn happy with it. I have a Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO air cooler and if I wanted to overclock my Phenom 1055T, I definitely could. :D

Yes i kinda did solve my problem by watercooling CPU with custom loop. :D I purchased all the parts now im just waiting for the guy to install it. :)

That's a good solution indeed, but you could've gone with a Corsair H100i or H110 and save a bit of money (if I am correct about the fact that closed water coolers are cheaper than custom water loops :D )

Yes but i bought used kit from the guy who won the CoolerMaster tournament in case moding for only 100e. :D so that's much cheaper then Corsair or any other good AIO coolers. Still i chould't place the radiator in HAF 912+ if my choice was one of the AOI coolers.

Oh well,that's excellent then! ^^
