The GT 630 is better but in today software needs both are pretty lacking unless your just a causal user "Facebook,Netflix,Email,Browsing"

The GT630 is better than the HD4400,but both are very low-end GPUs and you will be able to do light gaming only.
What is your CPU and what is your budget for a GPU?

The 630 is better than the integrated graphics you have. It does depend on what your doing mind-you. But I would recommend a dedicated graphics card over integrated any day.

Crysis 3 average fps @ 1280x720 "low" preset settings;

GeForce GT 630: 32 fps
Intel HD 4400: 18 fps

Indeed it seems GT 630 is significantly better.

+1 for the reference

Intel on-chip is meant for very basic use and maybe some HD video streaming. For gaming, a discrete card will be much better.

Also... +1 for being an Amiga fan. :)  I still remember the old video toaster.

No. You either use your integrated (CPU) or dedicated graphics.

Only such thing available on some Intel chipsets is Lucidlogix Virtu, but it's actually not very useful (I don't know if they managed to make it actually use both GPUs at once). Here's more info: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-1630760/lucid-...

The i3 4170 is a decent CPU,it can handle a lot of games.
What would be your MAX budget for a dedicated GPU? $100? $150? $200?

You can pick up used 6870's for around $70, that would be a massive upgrade for the budget. I might know where one still is waiting if your interested.

Better wait for him to tell us his budget, you will be able to recommend a better card if his budget is over $70. :)

The i3-4170 is actually quite a nice CPU, directly comparable to the FX-6350. There's not a game in the world it can't handle above 55+ fps, and most games are way above 60 fps on that CPU (provided it's paired with a good GPU). Even Watch Dogs and BF4 can average 70+ fps on that CPU.

Anyway, as for a GPU you'll definitely want to buy used. You can get 2x or 3x the performance for the same cost at the lower end of cards.

I'm actually considering a amd a10-5400K and by budget is somewhere around 70$-80$

You would need a new Motherboard and Ram with that APU.

The i3 4170 is a good CPU and can still game at 1080p,even though we have much stronger CPUs available.
With a decent card, you can expect it to play games, like BF4 and Crysis 3 at 1080p at medium @ 45-50 FPS stable.
Speaking of the card, for $80,there is not much good cards.
The best one you can get for that budget is a Sapphire R7 250 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... costs exactly $80.
It's not the worst card in the world, but it can play games @ 1080p at low-medium.
You should consider expanding your budget to at least $100,so you can get a slightly stronger card, like the R7 260 1GB.
What I would highly recommend doing is adding $40 to your budget, making it $120,in order to get the best GPU for your i3: the Sapphire R7 260X 2GB: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...\
This card delivers some excellent performance,as I've seen a couple of people running that exact same card and either a Pentium G3420,FX-6300,i3 4150 or AMD Athlon X4 760K and getting an astonishing 50 FPS stable in Crysis 3 at high settings. I mean,it can't get any better than that.In BF4,you can expect to get 50 FPS average at high settings.
Again,my recommendation is to get another $40 and get the R7 260X. If you can't find it,GTX 650 Ti Boost or HD7790. Will get you the same performance as the R7 260X.
Hope this helps. :)
