I have a SGI 320 Workstation with Dual 1 GHz processors it was used from 1999 - 2005 I have since tried to restart it but I have forgotten my Administrators Password, I have a utility to change the PW if I can just get the system to boot from the CD, I really don't want to reload the OS just to regain the functionality of the ZIp & Floppy drives to access our companies older projects and re-archive them on newer media and cloud storage (the end goal). I can find an old system somewhere with pre-XP loaded and in working condition that would work and is virus free, right?. Does anyone have any hints or tricks? Just getting in to the OS loader with the F8 key at boot up puts you into some SGI proprietary options of which I don't see one for booting form the CD or Floppy or USB. Back when I upgraded this system from NT 4 to Win 2K I was able to upgrade to be able to add fire wire, USB other than the mouse & keyboard, only lost the DAT soundcard function. It's more for nostalgia and the pure challenge now. I'll probably just try to reload the OS and start from scratch if I don't hear from anyone out there.
