Hi,

I recently built a Asus Sabertooth X79 with Intel Core i7 4930K CPU system.
I brought G.SKILL Ares Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) DDR3 1866 (1866C10Q-32GAB), which came in two sets of 2 RAM modules each. However I am not sure if my memory is running in Quad mode and using the full frequency of 1866. I installed each 8 GB module in A1, B1, C1 and D1 slot (as recommended by Asus)

CPU-Z says that the Memory Frequency is 667.0 MHz.

Any suggestions?

It seems like your kit is running at the SPD speed at 1333. Make sure you go into your BIOs and enable XMP and it should work just fine.

XMP (Extreme Memory Profiles) are not enabled by default in the BIOS. You need to go to the BIOS and enable an XMP profile. The downloadable motherboard manual will have it listed.

Thank you. But when I turn it ON in the BIOS, it gives me several other options for CPU and I don't want to overclock the CPU now. It is completely safe to choose the defaults for CPU while having the RAM run at 1866?

With your processor, it should be fine.

Yes, Enable XMP, select profile 1 and leave CPU at default settings, should be fine ;)
