I recently bought a new gtx 760, and its plagued with stability issues, frequent crashes, BSODs. Only thing that seems to work is downclocking the gpu clock by 50mhz or setting the power limit 110% on stock factory overclock, which suggests that factory OC is bad. Downclocking or increasing power limit resolves stability issues.

I want to know if its just a matter of bad factory OC and will keep working downclocked(-50mhz is negligible) OR -if the GPU is defective and will get even worse over time ?? I really want to avoid RMA unless its absolutely necessary.

I'll assume everything is hooked up properly and that your PSU is providing stable power.

I bought the same card back in April. Works fantastic. I'm running an additional OC on top of the factory OC with no issues at all.

I'd say send it back. EVGA has good customer support.

Is there any more info on your pc specs?
What is your power supply? Brand and model?

Since April I've used the latest available (including beta drivers). I've had no problem along the way with any driver.

If it is not stable out of the box in its factory overclocked settings, you should really RMA it.
