Using AMD A8-7600 Kaveri Integrated GPU in conjunction with Discrete GPU

Solution
It shouldn't be bottlenecked with a 270x.

What you asked about is known as AMD dual graphics. I am unsure whether a 270x can be used. I was under the impression that only lower cards like the 240 and 250 could be used, preferably with ddr3 memory.

In any case, you have a nice gpu with that 270x. Download Catalyst 14.4 for your 270x and put it somewhere convenient. Use the AMD removal tool (can be downloaded from the AMD catalyst driver site) to take the old drivers off. Restart pc when prompted using the windows drivers (automatic). Turn PC off. Install new 270x. Connect monitor to 270x. Start up the PC. Install new set of 14.4 catalyst drivers. Win.

The only thing I am unsure of is whether you need to disable the 7600s igpu in...
In fact you can but its not ideal , same case when you try to crossfire two low end GPUs . Well the performance will be better for sure but you're far better off buying a strong discrete GPU as the price to performance isn't worthwhile.

The 270 Will be a good fit however slightly bottlenecked , you might want to take a look at the R7 265 or 260X as they'll be a good fit without having to pay much.

how big is your power supply? what games are you trying to play?

if your not sure and or its low wattage, the r7-260x would be a better choice as it is much lower power than the pitcairn based r9-270. otherwise the 270/x would be about as high tier gpu you would want to go and like said, in some demanding games you might experience some bottlenecking from the cpu, but not a deal breaker. as far as using the igpu in conjunction with another gpu, hybrid crossfire, it can be done but it causes more issues than its worth and only provides a relatively small performance increase, if any at all, in a few games.

My PSU has 600watts. I am hoping to be able to play cysis 3 on high/ultra settings but still get good fps. I'm not sure if this is possible with my rig as my current MoBo (crossblade ranger) only supports a-series and athlon processors - But I have been told the GPU I mentioned earlier should do the job. And how much would bottlenecking would I get see this CPU? What AMD A-series/Athlon processors (preferably under £70) would do the job better? Here is a link to my processor in mind http://shop.amd.com/en-gb/components/processors/AD7600YBJABOX

The only thing I am unsure of is whether you need to disable the 7600s igpu in bios. Just find that info out. Otherwise, you can enjoy your new more powerful rig.
