Hi folks,

I have a Toshiba laptop that whenever I attempt to boot it, it says "NO BOOTABLE DEVICE DETECTED. PLEASE RESTART" Now I have looked through many forums and nothing has ever worked.

I was attempting to be able to dual boot Ubuntu and Windows 8. I had the Live CD for Ubuntu and was trying to install (realized afterwards that was the wrong thing to do) I was at the point where it asks you how to install. I was looking at the partitions and accidently hit the "-" sign. It deleted that partition I think. After that I was unable to boot back up to Wondows 8. I know that the C: Drive is still there so shouldn't be able to boot? I really need some help.

Thank you so much!

You have most likely just altered the bootloader, which is a common problem for users that try a Linux dual boot the first time.

HERE is a guide with a couple of repair techniques that usually work.
